Accountant

Location: Eatontown, NJ

POSITION SUMMARY:

The accountant is Responsible for or assisting in many aspects of general accounting including maintaining the chart of accounts and general ledger as well as driving the month-end close to ensure it is completed within the required timeline.  Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare reports, and other accounting statements and reports as necessary.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.  

  • Perform accounting tasks for Aspire Technology Partners and related entities.
  • Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
  • Works with the accounting manager on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization.
  • Reviews records of accounts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • In conjunction with the finance team, develops systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies.
  • Prepares and posts general ledger entries for the month-end close
  • Compiles and sends Intercompany Debit/Credit Memos for chargebacks to other company codes
  • Prepares/reviews account reconciliations to support select balance sheet accounts and expense accounts
  • Provides ongoing account analysis and maintains assigned accounts.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with others and function as a collaborative team.
  • Knowledgeable and stays current and complies with GAAP
  • Generates a variety of financial reports for leadership as requested
  • Assists in month-end financial reporting
  • Review and approve or reject employee travel and expense reports in accordance with company policy.as requested by manager.
  • Responds to special requests for financial information as required
  • Review and reconcile Third party benefit billing.
  • Create and maintain physical and electronic files in an orderly and sensible fashion.
  • Ensure that all pending matters are referred to appropriate management levels and perform follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain total confidentiality in all matters of correspondence, telephone messages, and personal conversations Ensure that all pending matters are referred to appropriate management levels and perform follow-up as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable and stays current and complies with all Standard operating procedures (SOP). Work performance continuously meets or exceeds high quality and accuracy standards.
  • Complete compliance training by due date
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word required, experience with ERP/Accounting systems.
