 The Senior Datacenter Architect is a subject matter expert with experience spanning virtualization, compute, network, storage, and Cloud technologies. The individual will serve as a technical lead delivering datacenter transformation, cloud computing, end-user computing, backup and recovery, and hyperconverged & converged solutions, as well as performing as a cross-functional expert in consulting workshops.  This position is a six (6) month engagement and requires the individual to be at the client site three (3) to four (4) days a week.


  • Perform infrastructure design, strategy, and services; participate in the implementation of computer system, network storage, and security infrastructure
  • Provide technical analysis, integration expertise, and critical data analysis related to system architecture in alignment with overall enterprise data center solutions
  • Lead and support data center virtualization, service deliver, automation and implementation
  • Provide operations documentation, such as runbooks on technology being deployed
  • Deliver support, knowledge transfer, and assistance on deployed data center solutions
  • Serve as a virtualization, compute, network, and storage subject matter expert in consulting strategy
  • Communicate datacenter technologies with the highest level of clarity and client satisfaction
  • Own and drive the complete data center solution through implementation and deployment
  • Contribute to the definition and continuous refinement of delivery processes and documentation
  • Work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership; and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist


  • Experience related to current storage technologies including object-based storage, utility scale persistent storage, distributed unified storage and autonomous storage allocation
  • Familiarity with all aspects of data storage, monitoring and testing, and network requirements, such as: fiber-channel
  • Functional knowledge of storage hardware/software such as NetApp, Dell/EMC
  • Functional knowledge of backup technologies, such as Data Domain, and Commvault
  • Knowledge of VMware technologies and management & orchestration
  • Knowledge and understanding of Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Functional knowledge of Cisco UCS design and administration
  • Functional knowledge of hyperconverged and converged technologies, such as Hyperflex, NetApp HCI
  • Functional knowledge of Cisco Tetration and Intersite
  • Knowledge of datacenter networking, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and MS datacenter technologies is a plus

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Minimum of 7 years in a similar role
  • Broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, network, storage, and Cloud technologies Additional certifications, i.e., Cisco, NetApp, Dell/EMC, VMware, etc.
  • Experience working as a consultant and with Cisco and storage partners
  • Experience with mentoring people and leadership skills a plus
