POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Collaboration Engineer (SCE) designs, installs and supports advanced Cisco-based voice and collaboration networks. SCE’s have primarily responsibility for post-sale project technical leadership, execution and completion of project deliverables, and ongoing support engagements. SCE’s also assist in generating new business through presales engagements.

This position reports to the Collaboration Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.  

  • Communicate and cooperate with project management and technical peers to effectively plan, execute, and complete project engagements.
  • Assess collaboration project presales proposals, Statements of Work, Bills of Material, and other project definition source materials to validate project execution and technical feasibility.
  • Establishing technical plans, tasks, work breakdown structures, dependencies, contingency plans, and impact assessments
  • Coordinate the exchange of information between clients, third party sub-contractors, and Aspire Technology Partners project management and technical peers.
  • Gather, consolidate, prepare, document and distribute standardized project technical information in various formats, including but not limited to: PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Actively coordinate and mentor the activities of ATP Collaboration Engineers (CEs) and Associate Collaboration Engineers (ACEs) in concert with project management peers and in accordance with project goals.
  • Design and develop technical approaches to project deliverables in accordance with Cisco-published best practices.
  • Perform and document inventory of equipment and project related assets, including hardware and related components, and licensing.
  • Assemble hardware components and install devices into final mounted and operable positions, including physical connectivity for power, network link, and human interface.
  • Install and configure the following Cisco collaboration and related hardware, software products, and technologies with proficiency:

o          Cisco UCS C-Series Rack Servers (Cisco Business Edition 6000, 7000)

o          VMware Esxi Hypervisor

o          Webex Contact Center

o          Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX), including scripting for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)

o          Calabrio

o          Cisco Expressway

o          Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)

o          Cisco ISR Gateways

o          SIP Trunking

o          Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony

o          Cisco Jabber

o          Cisco Jabber Guest

o          Cisco Mobile & Remote Access

o          Cisco IP Phones (all models and variants)

o          Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM)

o          Cisco Unity Connection (CUC)

o          Cisco Instant Message & Presence Server (IM&P)

  • Assist in the integration and/or migration of 3rd-party Private Branch Exchange (PBX) services.
  • Provide technical diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Engage and coordinate the assistance of Cisco’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to resolve technical issues effectively and expeditiously.
  • Prepare and deliver training and related documentation and materials to peers and clients on any of the above-mentioned technical proficiencies.
  • Assist ATP sales in generating new business through presales engagements with potential clients, including the preparation and delivery of presentations, proposals, bills of material, and labor estimations, as needed
  • Design | Deploy | Test: Cisco Voice, Video & Presence systems.
  • Ability to engage with Operations Center and Manufacturer Support Teams to resolve network failures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an Information Technology related field of study or 7-10 years of equivalent professional experience required.

4-7 Years’ experience in related technology:

o Cisco UCS C-Series Rack Servers

o Cisco Business Edition 6000 & 7000

o Cisco Contact Center Express [UCCX], and scripting for Interactive      Voice Response [IVR]

o Cisco Communication Manager [CUCM]

o Cisco Unity Connection [CUC]

o Cisco Instant Messaging & Presence Server [IM&P]

o SIP Trunking

o Cisco Mobile & Remote Access

o Cisco Automatic Call Distribution [ACD] and Attendant Console

o Cisco Emergency Responder

o Cisco Paging Server [InformaCast]

o Cisco Spark

o Cisco Telepresence Management Suite

o Cisco Meeting Server and Webex Collaboration Meeting Room [CMR]

Must have a strong understanding VOIP solutions integration with 3rd party Private Branch Exchange [PBX] systems.

6 Years’ experience in a Deployment Leadership role

Must possess In-depth understanding of Cisco Unified Communications products, and validated designs.

Must possess valid Professional Level Certifications in:

DEVCOR (Developing Applications Using Cisco Core Platforms and APIs), CLAUI (Implementing Automation for Cisco Collaboration Solutions), DEVWBX (Developing Applications For Cisco Webex and Webex Devices) , or 10 years of equivalent Collaboration experience

Preferred Education and Experience: 4-7 years’ experience in the CE role or work equivalent experience in:

Professional Level Certifications:

DEVCOR (Developing Applications Using Cisco Core Platforms and APIs), CLAUI (Implementing Automation for Cisco Collaboration Solutions), DEVWBX (Developing Applications For Cisco Webex and Webex Devices) , or 10 years of equivalent Collaboration experience

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Must have experience in leading Cisco voice/collaboration projects
  • Ability to work within a deployment team setting and limited supervision.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent documentation skills and provide examples of such work
  • Must possess excellent presentation, organization and planning skills
  • Must be able to work independently to achieve goals
  • Must be process and detail oriented
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills and be customer oriented
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel within NJ/NYC/PA.

Travel

Our client base is concentrated in NJ/NY/PA, but we do have clients up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Depending on your tasks, you may be required to go on-site.
