Collaboration Engineering (MS Teams Based)

Location: Eatontown, NJ

POSITION SUMMARY: The Collaboration Engineer (CE) designs, installs and supports advanced MS and Cisco-based voice and collaboration networks. CE’s have primarily responsibility for post-sale project technical execution and completion of project deliverables, and ongoing support engagements.

This position reports to the Collaboration Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.  

  • Deliver solid consulting, design and engineering support to customers across multiple Unified Communication and Collaboration products
  • Communicate and cooperate with project management and technical peers to effectively plan, execute, and complete project engagements
  • Assess collaboration project presales proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), Bills of Material (BOM), and other project definition source materials to validate project execution and technical feasibility
  • Establish technical plans, tasks, work breakdown structures, dependencies, contingency plans, and impact assessments
  • Coordinate the exchange of information between clients, third party sub-contractors, and Aspire Technology Partners project management and technical peers
  • Gather, consolidate, prepare, document and distribute standardized project technical information in various formats, including but not limited to: PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Design and develop technical approaches to project deliverables in accordance with MS Teams published best practices
  • Perform and document inventory of equipment and project related assets, including hardware and related components, and licensing
  • Assemble hardware components and install devices into final mounted and operable positions, including physical connectivity for power, network link, and human interface

  • Prepare and deliver training and related documentation and materials to peers and clients on any of the above-mentioned technical proficiencies
  • Install and configure the following MS collaboration and related hardware, software products, and technologies with proficiency:
    • MS Teams Phone System
    • MS Teams Rooms
    • PSTN connectivity Options for MS Calling Plans, Phone System Direct Routing
    • Session Border Controller
    • MS Teams, chat and channels
    • Policies (meeting, voice/calling, app and messaging)
    • Federation
    • Analyze org-wide trends or problems, drive improvements to performance with CQD
    • Teams cloud recording
    • Auto Attendants, Call Queues and Voicemail
  • Provide documentation related to As-Built
  • Develop repeatable deployment methods related to new and existing network or data center environments
  • Perform network assessments and consultations
  • Design enterprise-class Collab solutions with Microsoft Visio or similar graphing product
  • Deploy | Test: MS Teams Voice, Video, & Presence systems according to design
  • Engage in failure-mode analysis and remediation for the above technologies
  • Engage with project management regarding project status, timelines, and escalations
  • Engage with Operations Center and Manufacturer Support Teams to resolve network failure

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an Information Technology related major, or 3-4 years of equivalent professional experience, inclusive of:
    • Broad knowledge of Microsoft systems infrastructure products
    • Experience with administering Microsoft Teams
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Voice and Direct Route for SIP trunking
    • MS Express Route mpls/private circuits to an azure datacenter
    • Familiarity with CQD, Call Analytics and QoS
    • Meetings and Live Events
    • MS Calling Plans
    • MS Licensing Model(s)
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining Cloud computing technologies. Must possess a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams suite of products and validated designs.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field of study, plus:
    • MS Teams/Phone System
    • Basic scripting and development skills & PowerShell a plus
    • WebEx Teams/Calling
    • Python Scripting/Programming
    • Familiar with poly/yealink phones, rooms system for video conferencing
    • 2-3 years hands-on Cisco voice and collaboration experience
    • Knowledge of Cisco Collab Suite of Applications

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • An understanding of the security and user access design of NetSuite
  • Highly Preferred: One or more active product certifications on NetSuite
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work within a deployment team setting and limited supervision.
  • Must possess strong documentation skills and provide examples of such work
  • Must be able to work independently to achieve goals
  • Must be process and detail oriented
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills and be customer oriented
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle

TRAVEL: Our client base is concentrated in NJ/NY/PA, but we do have clients up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Depending on your tasks, you may be required to go on-site.
